Pink October: Saniss Awards Campaigns that Raise Awareness about Breast Cancer

October 19, 2026

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the Saniss Awards would like to take this opportunity to look back on winning prevention and early detection campaigns and to celebrate the role that communication can play when creative ideas are put at the service of health and wellbeing.

Throughout its different editions, Saniss has recognized campaigns that address breast cancer from different perspectives: some resort to innovation and technology, others seek to make prevention more accessible, and others raise awareness about the gaps that still exist when it comes to women’s health.

These cases show that a Health & Wellness campaign can go far beyond transmitting a message. A campaign can generate conversations, facilitate access to information, and turn a complex topic into a more accessible topic.

When creativity becomes prevention

In its 2026 edition, “GTF*O,” by CultHealth, an Indegene Company for Breast Cancer Prevention Partners, was recognized by the Saniss Awards. The case obtained two Bronze medals for its direct communication approach, which demonstrates how an idea can use a contemporary language to draw attention to a health problem.

“Words” is another campaign recognized by Saniss in 2026. The campaign, developed by Concept McCann for SenosAyuda, won in the Wellness / Prevention category. The project focuses on prevention and the need to promote breast health in everyday conversations, demonstrating that creativity can save lives.

Another standout case is “Recaptcha The Breast,” developed by EML LATAM for the Colombian League Against Cancer, recognized with a bronze at Saniss 2025 in the Innovation / Digital category. The campaign connects everyday technology and prevention efforts.

In 2024, Saniss recognized the campaign “Cerremos la brecha,” or “Let’s close the gap,” developed by Buzz Costa Rica for Roche.  The campaign addressed health gaps, with particular attention to breast cancer, and raised a fundamental dimension to health communication: not all people have equal access to information, prevention and care.

These cases share more than a festival recognition. They represent different ways of approaching health from creativity: finding new languages to talk about prevention and bringing relevant information to the people that need it. The campaigns recognized by the Saniss Awards show that there is no single answer. Technological innovation, design, education, digital communication and awareness strategies can become tools to bring health closer to people. Because when an idea gets someone to pay attention, get informed, talk about a topic with loved ones, or make a decision related to their well-being, creativity is no longer just a communication tool. It becomes a key component to impact.

For the Saniss Awards, Pink October is also an opportunity to recognize the agencies, brands, organizations and professionals using creativity to contribute to a conversation that matters.
